Protect Your Shades: 4 Easy Care Tips!

Jake Ellis® Guide: Looking After Your Sunglasses - Jake Ellis®

Sunglasses are a much needed accessory for many people and making sure they're in tiptop working order is vital. We have compiled this article containing our top tips to make sure your sunglasses get the care they deserve.

1. Wash Your Sunglasses

Keeping your sunglasses clean helps you see better. Use a soft cloth or lens cleaner to wipe them. Avoid using paper towels or your shirt, as these can scratch the lenses. Clean them often to keep them clear from dirt and smudges!

2. Store In A Case

When you're not wearing your sunglasses, always put them in a case. This protects them from scratches and keeps them safe. If you don’t have a case around, try to store them in a safe spot where they won’t get crushed or damaged.

3. Don't Put Them On Your Head

Wearing sunglasses on your head might seem cool, but it’s not a good idea. They can fall off and get scratched or broken. Instead, hold them in your hand or wear them on your face where they belong.

4. Watch Out for Heat

Sunglasses can be damaged by too much heat. Keep them away from hot places, like your car dashboard or near a heater. Heat can warp the frames and damage the lenses, making them less useful. Store them in a cool, dry place!
