Jake Ellis® Sunglasses began in 2019 with two islander friends.
Starting out
The two friends, born on the Isle of Wight, grew up surrounded by sandy beaches, rolling hills, and endless coastline to explore. Spending days surfing, mountain biking, and hiking.
Hooked on adventure
Jake and Ellis loved the adventurous life on the Isle of Wight but soon had to think about their futures and decided to adventure in a new way, putting their creative talents to work. With the Isle of Wight being the sunniest place in the UK, sunglasses are a part of everyday life. Starting with a small batch, learning as they went. They named the brand Jake Ellis Sunglasses after the two of them to keep it real.
Riding the wave…
The sunglasses started to take off. People connected with the brand’s down-to-earth attitude, island spirit, and no-nonsense quality. Each new pair was built better than the last, timeless designs made for real life, not throwaway trends. Word spread. Orders grew. And the vision expanded: to build a thoughtful brand for people who live deliberately and seek out the good stuff, just like they do.

The Founders
Born and raised in Totland Bay on the Isle of Wight, enjoying the country roads and exploring the island. Jake is a car enthusiast and family man. With a background in engineering and manufacturing. His love for product stems from an early age, watching 'How It's Made' shows on tv and having a go at putting that into practice with various projects.
Jake was involved in building an electric and economical racing car back in high school, that he also raced at the famous Goodwood Motor Circuit.
Born and raised in Newport on the Isle of Wight, enjoying the sun, sea, and surf. Ellis is an award winning entrepreneur, talented in design and marketing, with crazy attention to detail. With relentless passion to solve problems, resolve strengthened through his endeavours over the last decade, he loves a challenge, and will have a go at solving anything.
Ellis started his first business aged twelve, and hasn't looked back.
